The Lady is Back

The bloody earth tremor shook me up this morning. It was just after 7:00 am. I got out of the house to see if everything is alright to find no one in our little neighbourhood doing the same. I must live among very brave people. On the way in, my brother emerged asking, "Did you feel that?" I think my answer was, "Duh..." and went back to sleep.

My sleep was interrupted again by a cat meowing outside my window. I dragged myself to the kitchen for breakfast where my brother informed me that the mother cat has reappeared! After breakfast I dragged myself outside to look for 'Lady'. Lo and behold, she was looking around at the neighbour's porch. She came over to me, eyeing me cautiously as she approached. She meowed like she was asking for her baby. I told her that the little one doesn't live here anymore and she looked at me curiously. I asked if she would like some food and she replied with a firm meow. I guessed that was a YES. My brother beat me to the food bowl first. He gave her some leftovers.

I am going out this evening. I will leave out some food in case Lady would like some. She is not our cat at this stage. She comes and goes as she wishes. I will continue to feed her so long that she's happy to visit. Maybe I should install a cam to see if she is really eating our food and not that stupid Scarface Claw. So it seems like the story about the cats continues...even without the little one... Despite her exposed skull, she was an adorable kitten. She was energetic, constantly working on her climbing skills and teasing me for a play. May be she was injured internally and may be she had other problems, I wish that we could be friends for longer.
