Poor Lady
No wonder Lady had wanted to come into the house when I was locking up. The poor thing was obviously feeling vulnerable being left outside. I think that she was one of three cats dueling in the roof space above my bedroom minutes ago. The alpha male, aka Scarface Claw tends to prowl the neighbourhood after dark. In the day, he sits in his cage looking like a king sunbaking. We need to arrange somekind of refuge for Lady. I will need to discuss this with my Mum tomorrow. I thought that the ceiling was about to collapse due to the ruckus caused by the cats. Poor Lady, she is not ready to be a Mum yet... She needs time to get over that little one.

The Lady is Back
The bloody earth tremor shook me up this morning. It was just after 7:00 am. I got out of the house to see if everything is alright to find no one in our little neighbourhood doing the same. I must live among very brave people. On the way in, my brother emerged asking, "Did you feel that?" I think my answer was, "Duh..." and went back to sleep.
My sleep was interrupted again by a cat meowing outside my window. I dragged myself to the kitchen for breakfast where my brother informed me that the mother cat has reappeared! After breakfast I dragged myself outside to look for 'Lady'. Lo and behold, she was looking around at the neighbour's porch. She came over to me, eyeing me cautiously as she approached. She meowed like she was asking for her baby. I told her that the little one doesn't live here anymore and she looked at me curiously. I asked if she would like some food and she replied with a firm meow. I guessed that was a YES. My brother beat me to the food bowl first. He gave her some leftovers.
I am going out this evening. I will leave out some food in case Lady would like some. She is not our cat at this stage. She comes and goes as she wishes. I will continue to feed her so long that she's happy to visit. Maybe I should install a cam to see if she is really eating our food and not that stupid Scarface Claw. So it seems like the story about the cats continues...even without the little one... Despite her exposed skull, she was an adorable kitten. She was energetic, constantly working on her climbing skills and teasing me for a play. May be she was injured internally and may be she had other problems, I wish that we could be friends for longer.

Gone Kitty and The Wuss
The little kitten was still hanging around at our house yesterday morning. When I left to go to Yu Cafe for lunch, it was napping next to my Mother's car. When I went to check on it, it's little head popped up to greet me. By the time I came home, it was no longer there. I thought that it had move to somewhere cooler. When it was time for din-din, it didn't come in a hurry. I thought that 'Lady' had returned for her baby and the duo had left. So, I placed only a little bit of dry food just in case they chose to return.
Early this morning at around 2:00 am, I was watching B. Bertolucci's "The Last Emperor" on DVD when I heard two cats fighting. I wondered if the neighbourhood's Scarface Claw came to pick on our little one but I, the neighbourhood Wuss was too scared to go check. As I ate my breakfast later in the morning, my brother informed that the little one is dying at his 'workshop'. Again, wussy me was reluctant to go check. My brother did inform that the food that I left for the cat was gone but we weren't sure who ate it. May be Scarface Claw was stealing its food earlier.
The nameless little one eventually died early in the evening. My brother took it to a skip. It wasn't buried. It was nothing like when my Guinea Pig died in Melbourne but that was another tragic story. I am pretty sure that I am not ready for another pet and I have been thinking... I might not even be ready to start dating anytime soon either. I am under massive amount of pressure but no, I don't think that I am ready...

Poor Kitty
When I got up this morning, I was hoping that 'Lady' would be outside nursing her little one. She was however nowhere to be found. I did notice that the foodbowl was empty and I was hopeful that she had her share. I checked throughout the day and the reality set in... 'Lady' is gone. She probably got run over.
The little one lazed around all day. I think that it is a female and I still don't have a name for it. She has become quite playful overnight. Everytime I step out of the house, she would chase me. Without cuddles from her Mum, she has begun to turn her attention to us (my brother and I). I don't feel very comfortable around her because I find her wound quite scary. According to my brother, the wound is healed except that the skin will not regrow, thus exposing part of her skull. My brother reckoned that she looks like a Terminator Cat! May be we should call her Sarah.
I hope that 'Lady' is fine wherever she is. May be she is in heaven, in an area designated for animals. May be she saw my little Guinea Pig and just may be he told her that her little one is safe with us. I wouldn't say safe. She would be safer here but definitely no absolute safety guaranteed. This is not Melbourne... This is a horrible place to be a pet of any form.
This poor kitty loves me. Right now she is seated on the window next to me. She is outside though. We are separated by the mozzie screen. Because she is not toilet trained, she is not allowed inside. How does one toilet train a cat? My Guinea Pig used to deposit his poos in a chosen corner of his cage. The pellets tend to build up in one area. I noticed that Catsan is available in KK but do I have to do anything for this kitty to start using it? Cats are very independent. Unlike dogs, they love to do their own things their way...

I Tawt I Taw Two Puddy Tats
Around two or so weeks ago, a couple of cats decided to move into our home. The cats are a mother and a kitten. The first time I noticed their existence was when I walked into the kitchen after school one weekday. I thought that we were burgled again because my lunch was a mess on the dining table. Our helper told me about the cats. Then I saw them lazing around on my Dad's old massage chair like they are the proud owners. The mother is white. She strutted around like she is the lady of the house and thus I called her 'Lady'. The baby looked very weak at first and something on her forehead caught my attention. I thought that its forehead was wet/damp but chose to not pay too much attention to avoid bonding with the animal. Later I saw the duo on my Dad's chair again. The mother was licking the little one's forehead. I thought that the fur looked odd and went for a closer look. To my absolute horror, I saw the kitten's cracked skull! There's no skin there! It was horrible. I notified my Mum and she was all calm like she had seen such things. She explained that someone probably cracked the kitten's head with something. Pitying the duo, she gave them milk. From that day onwards, the helper fed the cats leftovers.
The little one began to pick up. It wasn't in pain. It began to run around. Its coordination is pretty good. With my Mum and the helper away, I bought cat food (dry and 'gourmet' single serve packets) to feed them. They seemed to like the food. This morning, I noticed that the baby hung around under the cars but 'Lady' was nowhere to be seen. This evening when I went to feed them, only the little one came to me. 'Lady' still hasn't come home. It is now 9:08 pm, I still haven't seen her. I am more than a bit worried. This is part of the reason why I don't want to bond with local animals. They have a tendency to just disappear.
Here in my neighbourhood, someone is hurting animals. I believe that this person has been a neighbour since before I left for Australia in early 1991. The fuckwit seemed to go after cats. When my brother came home from the UK in the late 80's, he brought with him a beautiful cat called Maddy. It vanished on Labour Day 1989. OK, Maddy could have been catnapped because it was so beautiful. Then a couple of strays turned up the following year and within months of moving in with us, the smaller one was savagely beaten up by someone. Its hip was broken and the vet put a cast on it. Unfortunately, the poor thing was pregnant at the time. While the kittens survived the beating, no one survived the birth. In the late 90's, my brother took home another stray who ate like a king from day one. It too was apparently run over by someone. I was still in Australia at the time and apparently the scene was gruesome. Nevertheless, my Mum and the helper took it home and buried it in the flowerbed.
I hope that 'Lady' would reappear. I hope to see her safe in the morning. She's such a good mother. The little one must be wondering where its Mummy went... I think that I will recharge the camera before bedtime so if 'Lady' comes home, I could take a photo of the two of them in the morning.
